With the prices of natural gas, oil, & propane reaching an all time high you just can’t afford not to be well insulated. Many people may not know the biggest heat losses are found in the attic. Did you realize that a home with less than 15” of blown-in cellulose insulation is losing tremendous amounts of very high priced heat energy. Some of you may have fiberglass batting insulation in your attic, this product alone is generally not a high enough R value to stop those heat losses. The walls are another critical source of heat loss. Airsealing your basement and attic chaseways in the house can also significantly reduce heat loss. Do you have large icicles hanging from your overhangs? This is a tell-tale sign that there is a need for attic insulation and ventilation.
